How does one go about producing and marketing their own fitness video/dvd.What steps do l need to take, where do l begin?

Excellent question - To begin u need to ''map'' out the actual video just like they do for major motion pictures. With all the video is I've produced l use a white board to block ( think of it like the way they make comic books ) the different segments l am going to shoot.

Once u have a rough outline of the way ur video in going to go, make note of any props you're going to need, pick a good place where you're going to video the whole thing & consider the lighting needed.

If you're going to be doing it yourself or have a friend video it, then start now with ur ''first take.'' this is seldom the one u use but if it is ur first time in front of a camera, it will give u a good idea what works & what doesn't.

You really have to have a tight script to follow so it has a nice ''flow'' to it & thou u may ''ad lib'' here & there u want to stay on track, that is why ur original ''story board'' is so important & do not be afraid to make any needed changes.

If you're doing the editing on ur computer there r some very good software programs out there ( Vegas Movie Studio ) is around $60 & should be fine for what you'd like to do.

You can start by burning ur own DVD is but if u have a really good response & demand goes up ( which if it is good it should , right ? ) then there r Fulfillment Companies out there that can make mass quantities with all different types of covers, from clam shell to beautiful box designs.
